1st Wilson’s Ravensett Giovanni.  10mth Orange D. Liked this young man, standing alone all through but very worthy of his BOB. Good size and shape with a pleasing head, oval skull and dark eyes. Good length of neck flows into a well made front with good bone and neat feet. Deep well sprung ribs back to a short loin and a well angled rear. Nice loose coat and moved with ease and drive. BP & BOB

1st Speck’s Sarscottah Astro. 4yr Liver / White D. Have always loved this boy and watched him mature. He has all 4 elements, type, size, conformation and movement. The latter still needs a little work with his handler. Super head, broad but refined with dark eyes. Excellent front assembly with forechest, good bone and feet. Well ribbed back under a level topline, to a moderately angled rear. Well muscled all through. In good coat and moves with ease showing good drive.  Looked lovely in a good group and came away with Gundog Group 4.

Junior Handling

6 – 11 years (11,7)

1st Niamh Nash handling a Papillion. Your dog was playing up a little on the table so you need a little more practice with him there but I liked the way you kept cool and calm with him. Your triangle and up/down were good and your straighter line to the corner and back won you the class.

2nd Charlotte Wilson handling a Schipperke. Another very competent handler.  You showed the teeth well and stood your dog correctly on the table. Your triangle was good but you need to finish the up/down in front of the judge.  Up to the corner and back was not as straight. A few minor points to work on.

3rd Madison Twigg. Handling a Min Pin. You needed a little help on the table showing the teeth but that will all come with practice.  Your triangle and up/down were good.  Practice the tablework and also start practicing to shadow.

12 – 16 Years (2,0)

1st Trinity Robb. Handling a Malamute. I know you are a very accomplished handler but today the 3rd leg of your triangle was a little off. Try to get the line so the dog heads back toward the judge.  Your T was very good. You do always stack your dogs beautifully and showed the teeth clearly.

2nd Chiara Carta handling a Welsh Terrier.  I would like to see you paying a little more attention to how your dog is stood on the table and when showing the teeth make sure your head is not obstructing the view for the judge.  Your triangle was good and you would benefit from talking to the dog more to encourage her along. Up/down was ok.

Adult Handling

17 – 35 Years (5,2)

1st Rachael Steel handling a Shi Tzu. Very competent handler. Excellent table work with dog stood with care and teeth shown clearly. Your lines in your triangle and up/down could be straighter. ‘T’ was good and I like the way you talk to and reassure your dog. Well done.

2nd Stephanie Twigg handling a Min Pin. Another very competent handler who was very close to winning this class if your table work had been to the same standard as the winner. Teeth were shown well, you just need to pay a little more attention to how your dog looks on the table. Your triangle and up/down were very and nice to see the dog brought straight back toward the judge on the last leg of the triangle.  Something many handlers struggle with.  Just remember to check where the judge is on an up/down.

3rd Leanne Roberts handling a Siberian Husky. What a handful he is and I liked your calm approach.  I can see you have the basics there and once he settles down so you can make everything tidier it will all come together.

36 Years & Over (11,3)

1st
Janet Rice handling a Tibetan Spaniel. Very good table work and you presented the teeth cleanly. Your pattern work could be tidier with straighter lines but you can do it because your line up to the corner and back was the best.

2nd Wendy Smith handling a Chihuahua. Very close to winning the class. Good table work but I felt not quite as well presented as the winner. Your pattern work also could be tidier and if it had been, then I think that would have won the class today.

3rd Debra Kay handling a Jack Russell. Again the class was there for the taking and my notes simply say, same as 2. Work on smart precise presentation on the table and simple straight lines in the patterns and you will move up the line.
